Experienced Biotechnology Industry Executive
He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and graduated from Tübingen University in Germany with a degree in Genetics.
Wolf has taught and conducted basic research at several universities in the United Kingdom and Sweden as a visiting professor. He has published over 95 papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 50 articles in books and other forms of communications.
He is named inventor on 28 patents. He has raised over $US75Mil in research funding from public and private organizations.
Prior to this he held senior management positions in a forestry technology start-up company, in Syngenta and its predecessor companies where he was responsible for biotechnology developments and taking ideas from basic research to the market.
During his time in Vancouver, Canada, he was a member of the local Angels and mentoring network, supporting start-up companies in BC.
Previously, he managed his own biotechnology consultancy company, was chairman of the Board of the Plant Biotechnology Association of British Columbia, Canada, and was co-founder of a green biotechnology company.
Prior to this, Wolf was the General Manager of the Fraunhofer Chile Research Foundation and Executive Director of Fraunhofer Chile Research, Center for Systems Biotechnology, the Biotechnology Center of Excellence established with CORFO funding for the past 5.5 years.
